  Room 101 Limited, London, UK (April 2008 - November 2009)

Profile Overview: I worked with Room 101 Limited, a company based in Putney, London. I worked as a PERL Programmer and developed retail websites, and content management systems. Apart from this, I worked on a highly complex system, which is designed to provide confidential and safe online mentoring to young people (including school and university students).

Technical Skills Used:
-- PERL (Practical Extraction and Reporting Language) programming for Web and UNIX.

-- JavaScript.
-- MySql Database.
-- Unix Shell Commands and Utilities.
-- Structured Programming using Abstract Data Types (ADTs).

Company Overview: 
The company has been in existence since 1998, unaffected by the IT downturn around 2001/2002. The focus of the work that we do is bespoke website development, however, we have a secure and reliable infrastructure in place with around a dozen servers in London Docklands with Global Switch. This infrastructure therefore enables us to also provide services to small or medium size businesses for managing their emails. We have a variety of other services, which include the distinct Authenticated SMTP service, Fallback SMTP Service (MessageFlow), and much more.



  Hughes Software Systems, India (July 2003 - April 2004)

Profile Overview: I worked as a Web Developer Intern at the Web Technologies Group within the Corporate Communications department at Hughes Software Systems, Gurgaon, India. The work I did centred around developing web applications for the company's internal client, Hughes BPO Services. The applications were being developed to help the client company manage and track their quality procedures.

Company Overview: 
Hughes Software Systems, then an American company owned by Rupert Murdoch, is now known as Aricent, since it was taken over by some other company.
