Personal

Introduction

So, how was it growing 'Under the Sun'?

I would be very clever in my choice of words to describe how it was. Whilst it may be a romanticised idea of 'Living in the Sun' in the West, in that part of the world, where I grew up, Sun is used as a metaphor for exhaustion and sorrow in Poetry.

Now this must be a cliched statement coming from me if you know me, but just started with it, since the picture that you see in the left was taken in the country that greets the Sun majestically with crimson morning skies.

It is worth admitting that a 'Personal' page on anyone's website could be a real interesting thing to read given that it says a lot about someone's personality. Knowing that, and finding my ways around how to write, what would you expect to read?

Perhaps for a minute I could think I am writing a blog and carry on. Perhaps you would like to read what goes on after 5pm, or over the weekends? If you know me, you would already know this, and if you are an acquaintance: Let me think, should I really tell you this?

By all means, I should avoid using 'text' language here, and for that matter on any area of my site, since I have a real problem with the 'text' language 'yeah'! Grin on the face? Or does it sound too 'upmarket'? No it doesn't! I had been a strong academic, by the way!

'Don't tell me that now!' Ok, agreed. not one of the fanciest things to talk about on a 'personal' page I guess.

What else?

Influences: Two people who have strongly influenced and shaped the way I have grown up in the last 11 years are Daisaku Ikeda, and Josei Toda. Wouldn't talk much about it here, there are more things to put on this page!

Things I Love: I should avoid talking about them a lot here. Perhaps you know already. Curries, Wine, and yes talking on!

Culture: 'Well, don't sound too good now!' Ok, I shall not! But! I think culturally, yes I am somewhat a North Indian, but more than that, I see myself as surpassing a cultural stereotype or identity. If you know me, you will know that. And if you are a social scientist, better, since you will be aware of the term 'Global Citizenship'. For those of you who don't know this term, simply speaking, it means that the earth is my home!

Too much about me? Sounds like I've said too much about me!

What about this? If it's been a long time we spoke, why not email me at: mail -at- sumeetgrover -dot- com.

And, the last thing I cannot avoid writing about towards the end of this page. I am an artist. What kind of artist? The one who has way with words, imagination, thoughts, and expression.

Here's a food for thought, if you like to imagine:

A barren land
With dried trees,
Under
The golden sun,
Kicking stones
On the road -
Reminds me
Of a fragrance
That I smelled,
In a summer,
Years ago!
