Music

The melodies of a crooner and the sound of the acoustic guitar.

The 90′s

I didn’t have long hair in the 90′s and did not listen to either Beatles or Guns and Roses. Lucky Ali, the carpet-maker turned horse-breeder turned singer was the one I enjoyed listening to. The song that took him to fame, ‘O Sanam’, shot in the desert with a special appearance from his wife, was my favourite in the 90′s. And then his album ‘Sifar’ was the next best thing I liked about his singing.

I think Ali then faded off eventually in the first few years of the noughties by becoming monotonous.

Late Noughties – The Crooner, and the Acoustic Guitar Songs

Jumping straight to 2007 December when I first heard ‘Everything’ by Michael Buble – there was something distinct. It was not fabricated music covering up poor singing. It was authentic music and an originality to the voice. So that makes me love Buble’s music.

I also like James Blunt’s music for it’s originality and his songs with sounds of guitar.

And yes, treat it as my official statement, ‘I am not a fan of Lady Gaga!’

Fusion

Apart from the above, I also enjoy a new genre of music: Fusion of Indian Classical with Western music.
